The Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information recommends the Parliament to adopt the Bill on Amendments to several Legislative Acts (re Protection of Public and Information Space from a Negative Influence)

The bill (Reg. No. 8371) restricts rendering of occult-mystical services by healers, magicians, shamans, theurgists, extrasensory perception experts, fortune-tellers, spiritists, astrologers, soothsayers and other persons claiming that they can tell fortune, have an influence over people, spiritual world, property and the environment using supernatural abilities or forces. The bill prohibits media advertising or live broadcast of such services. The Committee members believe that it will protect public physical and moral health.
